Nilambar, born and brought up in the suburb of Chandannagar, is currently pursuing his PhD under the supervision of Professor Madhucchanda Sen, with a research focus on the intriguing intersection of self-awareness, language, and society. In addition to his training in Western philosophy, he has a profound interest in Classical Sanskrit philosophy. Nilambar received training in the Sanskrit language at a very early age from his grandfather at their home catuṣpāṭhī. He is currently studying the texts of Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇavism, Indian epics, aesthetics, and vyākaraṇa with traditional scholars. A music enthusiast, Nilambar holds Hindustani classical music and Rabindra Sangeet close to his heart. He is also translating some writings of philosophers such as Jiddu Krishnamurti and Daya Krishna into his native language.
