Noorilham is a PhD holder in Modern United States History,
specializing in U.S. involvement in the 1982 Falklands War. He
graduated on time (GOT) with the support of the Sylff Fellowship
(2022–2024). Previously, he received the USM Fellowship Award
(2017–2019) for his Master’s research on U.S. relations with the
Malayan Emergency (1948–1960).
At the undergraduate level (2013-2017), he was awarded the Sime
Darby Scholarship and completed a thesis on Islam and the role of
the Mufti in Johor, earning the Gold Medal from the Malaysian
Historical Society.
Currently, his research focuses on Modern U.S. History and
Malaysian History during the Cold War. He publishes in journals
indexed in Scopus, Web of Science (WoS), and MyCite, contributes
book chapters, and writes articles for prestigious Malaysian
magazines, especially those by Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka.
Despite being visually impaired, Noorilham remains committed to
contributing knowledge for society and actively engages in
community development as a special member of the Malaysian
Association of the Blind (MAB).
