Anna Bednarczyk is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Sociology, Jagiellonian University. She obtained her PhD from the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the Polish Academy of Sciences, where she defended her dissertation, The Spatiality of Feminist Mobilizations, Urban Safety, and Care: A Qualitative Study of Young Women’s Life Trajectories in Argentina (2025). Her research interests focus on urban sociology, feminist theories of care, qualitative methodologies, and gender equality in urban governance.
She is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the project LGBTI_FUTURES: LGBTI+ Youth Well being Across Europe: Imagined Futures in Turbulent Times. She has collaborated with Red Mujer y Hábitat de América Latina, UN-Habitat, Fundación Guatemala, and the United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) on initiatives promoting feminist cities and care policies. She has designed and facilitated workshops on social research methodology and feminist care perspectives for NGOs and women’s movements in Latin America and Europe.
