Bhanu Gupta is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics at Ashoka University and member of the Technical Advisory Group for the Program on the Indian Economy at UC San Diego. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Michigan in May 2020.
His primary fields are Public Finance and Development Economics. His research contributes to optimal tax administration with a focus on tax compliance of firms in developing countries. Some of his other work explores fiscal and behavioral inefficiencies that distort investments in human capital formation and social protection, particularly in education.
