Received Sylff fellowship in 2022, 2023
Academic supervisor : Guy Grossman
Current affiliation: University of Pennsylvania

I am a PhD student in Comparative Politics at the University of Pennsylvania's Department of Political Science. I am passionate about questions surrounding political behavior in migration contexts, with a particular research interest in understanding individual vulnerabilities to human trafficking and forced displacement. My methodological focus spans political behavior, political psychology, and political economy, and my regional focus centers on North Korea, but also extends to sub-Saharan Africa and beyond.
Before joining the University of Pennsylvania, I spent a year working at Citizens' Alliance for North Korean Human Rights (NKHR) in Seoul as a Boren Fellow, where I requested the addressing of North Korean defector repatriations by China for the 4th cycle United Nations UPR session, and performed geospatial research on the regional economic impact of COVID-19 in North Korea. I completed my undergraduate studies in Public and International Affairs at Princeton University, and completed a Master's in International Affairs at the University of California, San Diego as a Slyff Fellow.
