Branko Vranes

Academic achievements, social engagement initiatives: Branko Vraneš is a member of the Faculty of Philology of the University of Belgrade, teaching Serbian Literature of the 20th Century at the Department for Serbian and South Slavic Literatures. He received his PhD (“The End of the Modern: the Chivalric Ideal in the Shaping of the Contemporary Serbian and World Novel”) from the University of Belgrade. Vraneš conducted research for his PhD as a Visiting Researcher at the Department of Comparative Literature at Harvard University (Cambridge, MA), hosted by Professor David Damrosch from July through December 2014. Vraneš published a monograph The Last Knights: Essays on Literature (Belgrade, 2011) and many articles in Serbian and foreign journals. He is a member of the Organizational Committee of the 16th International Congress of Slavists, to be held in Belgrade in August 2018.
