Carlos Garcia-de-la-Cadena is a Ph.D. candidate in Economics at El Colegio de México, with an expected completion date of July 2026. His research examines public policy related to health and the effects of institutions on population health outcomes, using quantitative approaches with an emphasis on causal inference methods. His work spans health economics, public health, and labor economics, the latter due to its close linkage with access to medical services through social security in Mexico. His research agenda analyzes how labor market structures, service provision, and health infrastructure shape coverage, quality, and equity in access to healthcare. His goal is to produce rigorous empirical evidence that contributes to the design and evaluation of public policies that improve well-being and reduce health inequalities in Mexico.
