Farhad Nazir is a Global Postdoctoral Fellow at Czech Technical University in Prague, Czech Republic, where he works on the project: Innovation in Services with an Emphasis on the Impact of Modern Technologies on the Tourism Economy and Regional Development. He holds a PhD in Tourism, Heritage, and Territory from University of Coimbra, Portugal, and is a member of the Centre for Studies in Geography and Spatial Planning (CEGOT). His career combines academic teaching with industry practice in hospitality sector. He serves as an evaluation expert for European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) and is a working group member of COST Action CA21158 (SMILES: Enhancing Small-Medium Islands’ Resilience by Securing the Sustainability of Ecosystem Services) and COST Action CA24125 (CRICULT: Cultural Heritage in Crisis). His research focuses on sustainable smart destinations, heritage tourism, terrorism, destination branding, and artificial intelligence. His work is published in International Journal of Heritage Tourism, International Journal of Tourism Cities, Anatolia, Qualitative Market Research, and Journal of Tourism & Development, as well as in books published by Edward Elgar, Emerald, CABI, Apple Academic, and Springer. He has participated in numerous training events, summer and winter schools, workshops, and seminars, including programs on Open Science, Horizon Europe Pillar III (European Innovation Council), and Collaborative Research in Horizon Europe.
