Academic Achievements, Social Engagement Initiatives:
In 2022, Gabriele Slizyte has published an article “Propagande diplomatique, management et financement des artistes : le rôle de l’Association française d’action artistique dans la carrière américaine des musiciens français au début du XXe siècle” in the book "Financing Music in Europe", edited by Étienne Jardin (Turnhout, Brepols).

During the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 academic years, she is also in charge of the seminar “Culture and politics in the world” in Université Sorbonne Nouvelle.
As an artist and cultural mediator, Gabriele is regularly involved in mediation actions with vulnerable persons and schools.

Bio: 
A former student at Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris where she has obtained her Sylff's fellowship in 2019-2020, violinist and musicologist Gabriele Slizyte is currently working on her PhD dedicated to Association française d’action artistique at École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (Paris, France). Gabriele has already presented her work in various conferences in France, USA, Germany, United Kingdom, Lithuania and Italy.

A keen researcher and music mediator, Gabriele works with Radio France, Philharmonie de Paris, Orchestre Pasdeloup, Opéra national de Lorraine, Orchestre de chambre de Paris and Ensemble intercontemporain. In 2021, she was selected to join the Cultural Journalism Workshop of the Académie du Festival d'Aix-en-Provence.

As a violinist, she perfected her skills with Dalia Richter, concertmaster of the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra. Since then, Gabriele performs under the direction of Paavo Järvi, François Xavier Roth, Fabien Gabel, Wolfgang Doerner and Jean Claude Casadesus (Philharmonie de Paris, Salle Pleyel, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Nouveau Siècle de Lille, Berlin Konzerthaus, Opéra Bastille). As a chamber musician, she performs at the Festival International de Musique de Chambre en Charente, the Nancyphonies festival, the Festival des Forêts in Compiègne and the "Générations France Musique, le live" radio program. In 2021, she has performed alongside Martha Argerich at the centenary celebrations of the Conservatoire américain de Fontainebleau. Gabriele is a member of the Open Chamber Orchestra.

Summary of Support Program Activities: 
The SRG grant will be mainly used for a research journey in the USA in 2024.
