K. Ercan Atak is a Berlin-based freelance web developer and professional Turkish-Geman translator with over 15 years of experience in cross-cultural communication. He holds a BA in International Relations from Ankara University and an MA in International Political Economy from the University of Warwick, UK. Drawing on his background in political science, translation, and technology, he is currently developing "Mahalle" — a free, ad-free, multilingual neighborhood platform for Berlin Neukölln that aims to strengthen intercultural dialogue and civic participation across language barriers The project is grounded in the Anatolian concept of the local community as extended family, adapted for diverse European urban settings.
He is a member of Smart eG, Europe's largest cooperative for freelancers in the creative and knowledge sectors.
