Milena Sahakian is a researcher and educator in the field of Japanese literature, specializing in women’s writing. She holds anM.A. in Japanese Studies, an M.A. in Philosophy, an M.A. in International Economic Relations, and a B.A. in Applied Linguistics. She was awarded a Sylff Fellowship in 2024 as a PhD student at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski,” where her research examines the evolution and categorisation of female Japanese authors in relation to social and cultural transformations. Alongside her academic work, she has extensive professional experience in translation, education, and brand management. Her work seeks to bridge academic scholarship, education, and creative practice through interdisciplinary and internationally oriented approaches, including the development of digital initiatives and accessible learning resources that promote greater awareness of Japanese literature and culture.
