Paolo Daniele Scirpo (Siracusa, 1976) holds a degree in Classical Studies with a specialization in Archaeology from the University of Catania, where he completed a thesis in Aegean Archaeology on Haghia Triada. He later moved to Greece to pursue a PhD in Classical Archaeology, supported by scholarships from the Leventis, Sasakawa, and Onassis Foundations, as well as from the Hellenic State Scholarships Foundation (IKY). He obtained his PhD from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, defending a dissertation on the Rhodian-Cretan cults of Gela and Akragas. At the same institution, he conducted postdoctoral research on Akrai. He also obtained a tourist guide license from the Hellenic Ministry of Tourism. He is currently employed by the Italian Archaeological School at Athens. He has carried out teaching activities at the National Hellenic Research Foundation within the Historical Sciences Seminar, and has delivered lectures on Sicilian Archaeology at the Universities of Athens, Kalamata, Rhodes, Crete, and Cagliari. A member of cultural associations both in Sicily (such as the Società Siracusana di Storia Patria and the Istituto di Studi Acrensi) and in Greece (including the Center for Ionian Studies and Aegeus), he has participated in numerous international conferences as a speaker and has served on the organizing committee of two of them. He is also a member of the editorial boards of several Sicilian and Greek academic journals.
