Reni Katikawati is a researcher at the Center for Gender and Sexuality Studies, a lecturer in the Department of Criminology, and a doctoral student at Universitas Indonesia. With more than a decade of experience in research, teaching, and advocacy, her work focuses on gender, child protection, vulnerable communities, and technology-facilitated gender-based violence. She has worked closely with academic institutions, government agencies, civil society organizations, and international partners to advance research and policy initiatives on child marriage, gender-based violence, sexual and reproductive health, and digital safety. Her current doctoral research examines image-based sexual abuse and aims to develop gender-responsive policy approaches that strengthen protection and support for young women in digital spaces. Through her academic and professional work, she seeks to connect research, policy, and social action to foster more inclusive and equitable societies.
Academic Achievements, Social Engagement Initiatives
I am a doctoral student in Criminology at Universitas Indonesia whose research focuses on technology-facilitated gender-based violence, particularly image-based sexual abuse affecting young women. For more than a decade, I have been engaged in research, teaching, and advocacy on issues related to gender, child protection, and vulnerable communities. As a lecturer and researcher, I have collaborated with academic institutions, government agencies, civil society organizations, and international partners in research and policy initiatives addressing child marriage, gender-based violence, sexual and reproductive health, and digital safety. Through academic publications, community engagement, and policy-oiented research, I seek to badge knowledge and practice by contributing to more inclusive, evidence-based, and gender-responsive policies that support women and vulnerable groups in Indonesia.
