Socrates is a Sasakawa Fellow having received sponsorship in 2013-2015 to study M.A Economics at the University of Nairobi. He is currently a PhD student at the same university studying Economics. His main areas of specialization are International Trade (exporting firms, goods exports and service exports), Indurstrial Economics and Econometrics. Besides academics, Socrates holds several leadership positions including being the current chairperson of Sasakawa University of Nairobi Chapter. He is passionate about uplifting the education status of underpriviledged children. As a result, he is involved in a lot of charity, especially under Tuwakuze Africa (http://www.tuwakuzeafrica.org/). In addition, Socrates is an active athelete with interests in sprints (100m, 200m and relays).
