Yoshimi OHASHI is a Ph.D. candidate, a teaching assistant at the Graduate School of Law and a teaching associate at the Global Education Centre of Waseda University. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Law at Waseda University and LL.M. at the IHRL at the University of Essex, UK. From 2019 to 2023, she worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan by engaging in human rights diplomacy at the United Nations. Her research interests include public international law, particularly international human rights law. Her PhD thesis critically analyzes the existing framework of international human rights law for redressing human rights abuse in the transitional justice context.
