Hao Wen is a licensed social worker and fourth-year PhD candidate at Columbia University School of Social Work. His research focuses on the interconnected areas of digital technology, precarious labor, and mental health across the life course. Hao's work draws on advanced quantitative and computational methodologies, with an emphasis on network analysis, latent profile analysis, and intensive longitudinal modeling to understand how algorithmic management shapes the wellbeing of workers and young people. He is particularly passionate about employing AI- and app-based interventions to reach populations that conventional services seldom reach, from delivery gig workers in urban China to adolescents and families navigating facial difference in the United States. Hao's research is informed by his practice experience with workers, children, and families in both the US and China. He holds an MSW from Columbia University and a BS in Brain and Cognitive Science and a BA in Psychology from the University of Rochester.
