Academic achievement, social engagement initiatives:
Angela Freitas is a PhD candidate on Health Geography in the University of
Coimbra, Portugal. She received her BSc degree in Geography, Spatial
Planning and Development in the University of Coimbra in 2006, and her MSc
degree in GIS and Spatial Planning in the University of Porto in 2011.
Since 2012, she has been involved in a variety of scientific projects in
the field of health geography and health equity, at national and
international levels. Her research focuses on the link between ‘place,
policies and population health’, from the perspective of Health in All
Policies and spatial equity. Her PhD is exploring the local government
roles and place-based approaches to health equity using the city of Lisbon
as a case study.
