I am a Ph.D. candidate in public affairs and policy with extensive international work experience. I am a critical thinker who is passionate about bringing positive societal changes. I enjoy working with public policies, with a special emphasis on equity and social justice. Before starting my master's program in Conflict Resolution at PSU in 2017, I worked as a peacekeeper for the United Nations for over two years in Liberia. I worked with internally displaced populations and refugees alongside numerous national and international agencies, donors, and programs. My present research also focuses on global refugee management and global migration governance. I have received the prestigious Sylff fellowship for the 2024-25 academic year. I gained valuable experience in policy analysis and development as an Oregon Summer Fellow in 2023. I have worked with the Sunrise Water Authority and contributed to the development of a water equity white paper. Presently, I am working as a Hatfield Resident Fellow with the Child Family Behavioral Health Unit of the Oregon Health Authority. My academic journey at Portland State University (PSU) has prepared me well for my desired career path in public policy. As a doctoral student in Public Affairs and Policy, I have gained expertise in public policy, international politics, and policy management. Throughout my academic journey, I was actively involved in several campus leadership programs, which helped me to understand the rationality of diverse thoughts and actions and taught me how to accommodate and celebrate diversity. At PSU, I was an International Student Mentor and Student Leader for Service. I also received an International Cultural Service Program scholarship (ICSP), which enhanced my cultural awareness. I enjoy traveling to new places, exploring new cities and their food, and playing soccer and volleyball.
