Anna Plater-Zyberk has been in the role of Director of the Office of International Cooperation at the Polish Academy of Sciences since 2017. She received her PhD in cognitive linguistics from Jagiellonian University. Anna completed a BA in Management, an MA in Cultural Anthropology, as well as a European Masters in Translation Studies. She is a fellow of the Ryoichi Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellowship Fund and was a visiting scholar at the Metaphor Lab in Amsterdam. Prior to joining the Polish Academy of Sciences Anna was highly involved in setting up the newly established Polish funding agency; the National Science Centre, where she was responsible for building and directing the NCN Office of International Cooperation. In her current role Anna oversees international relations for the Polish Academy of Sciences which includes; mobility programmes, international networks and the activities of PAS centres abroad. Polish Academy of Sciences is both a learned society and a network of 69 research institutes working internationally in all fields of science.
