She currently serves as a Researcher at the Centre for Applied Research in Management and Economics (CARME) at the Polytechnic University of Leiria, where her research focuses on critical areas such as Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), Sustainability, and Tourism. In addition to her research role, she holds the position of Adjunct Professor at the Escola Superior Agrária de Coimbra, teaching Cost Accounting in the Master’s program in Food Engineering, and serves as a trainer at Porto Executive Academy, specializing in financial topics at the Instituto Superior de Contabilidade e Administração do Politécnico do Porto. From 2005 to 2014, she was an Adjunct Professor at Instituto Superior D. Dinis (ISDOM), where she coordinated and taught various courses.
Her research endeavors are deeply rooted in three core areas: sustainability, corporate performance, and productivity. She explores economic sustainability across diverse sectors such as wastewater treatment, tourism, and corporate governance, examining the social and economic impacts of various practices and policies to promote sustainable development and resource management. In the realm of corporate performance, her studies delve into the financial dynamics of sectors like nautical tourism and textile industries, investigating how corporate strategies and economic conditions influence productivity and competitiveness. Additionally, her research on productivity explores factors influencing firm efficiency in tourism and manufacturing, providing insights into enhancing economic outcomes through innovative management practices. Through these scholarly pursuits, she demonstrates a commitment to addressing critical societal and economic challenges. She actively engages in project evaluations and serves on Program Boards and as an Expert Reviewer for prestigious organizations. Her leadership is evident in organizing and participating in scientific committees for several international conferences. Beyond her academic and research roles, she coordinates scientific, technological, and cultural training activities, emphasizing her dedication to knowledge dissemination.
