Eva Gaigalniece is a PhD candidate in Political Science at the University of Latvia, Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences. Her research focuses on political radicalization in digital environments, with particular emphasis on social media dynamics, disinformation, and their impact on societal security in Latvia and the Baltic region. Her doctoral work develops a risk prevention model aimed at mitigating radicalization processes online, combining qualitative and quantitative research methods, including social network analysis and digital sentiment analysis.
Eva’s academic interests include extremism, hybrid threats, information warfare, and the role of digital platforms in shaping political behavior. She has participated in international academic conferences and is actively contributing to interdisciplinary research at the intersection of political science, communication studies, and security studies.
