Inga Hajdarowicz holds a PhD in Sociology, working at the intersection of academic research and grassroots activism. Her expertise spans participatory democracy, grassroots organizing, gender issues, and critical border studies. She has collaborated with urban movements, non-governmental organizations, and local municipalities to develop and implement effective tools for engaging citizens in decision-making processes, including participatory budgeting. Since 2015, she has focused on adapting these participatory methods to support people with experiences of displacement. Her doctoral research offered a deep ethnographic exploration of grassroots initiatives in Lebanon's Bekaa Valley. This fieldwork tracked the political engagement, collective learning, and emerging leadership of Syrian women as they navigated complex structures of displacement—insights that culminated in her monograph, 'Everyday Politics in Exile. Collective Learning and Organizing of Syrian women in Lebanon'.Additionally, she is a member of the coordinating group of Researchers on the Border (Badaczki i Badacze na Granicy), an initiative dedicated to documenting and analyzing the ongoing humanitarian crisis on the Polish-Belarusian border, where she also provides direct humanitarian assistance to people on the move.
