Jiajia Zhou is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Political Science at the University of Toronto and an Associate at the Centre for the Study of Global Japan. She specializes in the fields of comparative politics and public policy. Her dissertation project seeks to clarify the populist threat to democracies through a comparative perspective of political parties and policy processes. She has received support from the Japan Foundation and the Tan Kah Kee Foundation. Jiajia graduated with an M.A. in Regional Studies: East Asia from Columbia University and a B.A. (Hons) in Japanese Studies and Economics from the National University of Singapore.
