Jianming Mei

Academic achievements, social engagement initiatives:
Dr. Mei was China's Police Commissioner, Associate Dean of the College for Counterterrorism, and fouding director of the Research Center for Counterterrorism, People’s Public Security University of China in Beijing. He served as the academic advisor from the Chinese side to the Sino-France Counterterrorism Analysis Team jointly led by the Ministry of Public Security of China and the Ministry of Interior of France.Dr. Mei is honorary fellow at the Research Center for Counterterrorism, China Armed Police Force, and has undertaken more than ten research projects funded by China's Social Science Fund, Ministry of Techology,and Ministry of Public Security. 

Current affiliation: China National Institute for Shanghai Cooperation Organization International Exchange and Judiciary Cooperation in Shanghai.

Prof. Mei earned his PhD in philosophy in Jilin University in 1999. He was Visiting Scholar (2002-2003) in University of Victoria in Canada, Visiting Professor (2005-2006) with College of Criminal Justice, Sam Houston State University, Texas, USA, Visiting Scholar with ARC Centre of Excellence in Policing and Security (CEPS), Australian National University in August 2009. He worked as full staff with the International Cooperation Department of Ministry of Public Security in 2005 and 2007 respectively. He was invited to speak on terrorism by different departments of central and local governments in China and occasionally interviewed on counterterrorism or international police cooperation issues by key Chinese media.
