Karina Andjani

Karina has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in philosophy from the University of Indonesia with cum laude predicate. She received scholarships for UI academic achievements and UI-SYLFF scholarship. She is active in various events and organizations both on and off campus. While studying philosophy and teaching classical piano, she got her book, “What is Music? Explorations on Sound and Silence based on John Cage’s 4’33””, by Marjin Kiri (2014), featured in the Frankfurt Book Fair, Germany in 2014. She has also written “Music’s Critical Function to Social Conditions” featured in the book “Cultural Dynamics in a Globalized World”, Taylor & Francis Group, London, (2018), and several other articles. Her upcoming books are “Philosophy of New Music: Understanding Adorno’s Philosophy of New Music”, and an essay titled “Introduction to Philosophy of Music” to be included in the book “Introduction to Musicology”.
