Received Sylff fellowship in 2023

Kirill Filimonov has received the Sylff grant for a postdoctoral project about the role of media in the transformation of military conflicts. The project explores contemporary Russian newsrooms in exile and is carried out in collaboration with Charles University (Czech Republic) and the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (France).
His research interests revolve around discourse theory, citizen participation, alternative media, and, more recently, cultural studies of war. He holds a PhD degree from Uppsala University (Sweden) and has published his work in Social Media+Society and Critical Discourse Studies, among others. He is also a frequent contributor to the Swedish television and radio.
