Richard Wamai is an associate professor at Northeastern University where he co-leads the Integrated Initiative for Global Health. Wamai trained in European (Helsinki, Oxford, Uppsala, London School of Economics) American (Harvard, Johns Hopkins, World Bank) and African (Nairobi, Egerton, Kumasi) institutions. His expertise is in global health research, training, implementation and policy focusing on HIV/AIDS, COVID-19, neglected tropical diseases, non-communicable diseases, and health systems and policy in multiple sub-Saharan Africa countries. His continuing scientific interests are in evidence-based development of strategies for evaluating, preventing and responding to diseases in Africa in the context of the epidemiological transition (see full profile).
