I am 38 years, German and currently based in Cape Town, South Africa. Studying on the social impact of HIV/AIDS at Ruhr University Bochum, I was awarded a local SYLFF grant in 2005 to fund my field research on HIV/AIDS related Stigma in South Africa. After completing my Masters, I joined the Institute of Development Research and Development Policy in Bochum as PhD fellow, lecturer and mentor within an international Programme. With support from SYLFF, I completed my PhD in Social Sciences. Since 2014 I am based at University of the Western Cape in South Africa, to lecture and to assist African students who want to study in Germany.
