My motivation is to elucidate the mechanism of bacterial colonization to the mammalian intestine. I focused on the genomic mutation of gut microbes during intestinal colonization. Recent studies have shown that intestinal bacteria are associated with a wide range of diseases, including obesity and psychiatric disorders, as well as digestive related diseases. Therefore, my study provides a method for controlling the intestinal environment based on individual conditions and will contribute to the realization of tailor-made medicine targeting intestinal bacteria.
