 Igor Lesko, originally from Slovakia, has been living in South Africa since 2003. Following his undergraduate studies in European Studies, Igor spent one year at Bard College (USA) in an international exchange programme, made possible through the Open Society Foundations. He earned M.A. degrees in Social Development and Development Management from the University of the Western Cape (South Africa) and Ruhr University (Germany) in 2005 and 2007 respectively. Currently, Igor is a PhD candidate at the Open University of the Netherlands. The focus of his PhD research is on the Impact of International Organizations on Governmental OER policies.
Igor works for the Open Education Consortium as a Director of Operations, http://www.oeconsortium.org/. The main focus on his work is on advancing open education around world. In other words, strategies that will make education and educational opportunities more accessible, affordable and inclusive.
